Nicola, who joined Creature Comforts Home Boarding in May 2008 explains why she chose this pet franchise above all others.
“When I first considered a pet franchise, I set myself some ground rules. I didn't want to be drawn into something that was going to take all of my time and I wanted a role, where I felt as though I was involved, but at a pace that suited me.
I suppose what I am really trying to say is that I needed a balance in my life that gave me the time for myself that I wanted but still generated a very good income.
I have spent many years working in the clothing industry and I had made up my mind that I would get much more job satisfaction out of doing something that I really liked in an environment I really enjoyed. Becoming my own boss was both exciting and scary at the same time.
I looked for a pet franchise that offered lots of support, plenty of experience and an open-door policy for answering my questions.
I decided that Creature Comforts Home Boarding was the pet franchise to join after looking at quite a variety of other franchise businesses. The start up cost was low and manageable and I would recoup my investment relatively quickly.
The training was exceptional and the support is always there no matter what the query. Although I am managing my own business I feel as though I am part of a team and that is important to me. I set my own level of business and enjoy meeting the host families and clients as and when I get the chance. I have made loads of new friends, a bonus I didn't really expect. It was a big decision but I know I have made the right one.”

“I joined Creature Comforts in March 2008 and enjoy it immensely. Initially, I felt I needed a change from my everyday routine and as I am passionate about animals in general, but especially dogs. I realised that Creature Comforts would give me the ideal opportunity to be able to work closely with dogs.
I was interested in Creature Comforts Home Boarding for a number of reasons, but most importantly I needed to maintain my income and I wanted to be my own boss.
Creature Comforts spent time with me to make sure I understood everything I needed to know about this dog boarding franchise. They gave me all the information to 'recruit' host families who look after the dogs for me and also showed me ways of attracting clients to my new business.
This meant I was able to get started quite quickly and also enabled me to stay in control of my business.
The paperwork is straightforward and the clients are lovely. From time to time I act as a host and look after clients dogs for them myself. I really enjoy this as my own young dog also has great fun making new friends!
